Who are our wrestlers with the best shot to win it? Can Danbury get another NE title with their 7? Timberlane is also brining 7 and so is Springfield central. I think those 3 teams battle for the tittle .
i think the following CT wrestler have what it takes to win a championship
Rapuano
Jack
Mastroianni
S. Johnson
Sung
Licasti
wow! What a tournament. Proud of the boys representing CT well. Any surprising results?
DANBURY CLINCHES THE TITLE !!!
Danbury 5 for 5 this round - keeping the team hopes alive !!
Xavier 106 into the semis
cyr and Longo into semis
johnson with another bonus into semis
ebert / folino into semis - one going to finals
jack with bonus win into semis - has hendricken kid in semis, big team points there
fields with pin into semis -
3 Danbury guys in the championship bracket all have bonus wins, keeping them in the hunt
Most bizarre match - 145- Veleas (Berlin) v Brown (Exeter)
Suffice it to say Exeter sits in last place with -3 points.
After night 1 Danbury will have the lead by 2-4 points. Agosto was injured and has to default out first round, this really hurts Danbury‘s chances. Bishop Hendrickson is sitting in second with 4 in the quarters and 3 wrestling back. They have 2 more scores hen Danbury still in the tournament. Only way Danbury stays in it is if BH loses at least 2 in the championship bracket in the morning and Danbury wins all 3. TRhen they will need some help in the wrestle backs from other teams.
CT STATS
Danbury with 3 in quarters
Warde with 3 in the quarters.
Xavier 2 in Q
trumbull 2 in Q
New Canaan 2 in Q
Shelton 2 in Q
28 in the quarters for CT, with 2 head to head matches. 126 and 120 have CT5 Wrestling CT3 for a spot in semis.
2 Freshman in the quarters, Ebert and Weiner.
285
Weiner and Houston into the quarters, both on bottom side of bracket
Agosto was injured and defaulted - that is a big blow for Danbury and will most likely cost them the tourney if he doesn't wrestle tomorrow.
Danbury up by 5 points after the R16 - bonus points have them ahead and 3 Quarter finalist. All 3 are favorites to win in the morning. They are going to need some wins from Odell, Ozbey and Leblanc
Bishop H. with 4 in the quarters are looking tough.
Springfield Central has 3 and all are favorites to win but have 2 have to beat CT1 (lets go CT1!)
Timberlane is hanging around with 3 in quarters, but i only see them advancing 1 into semis
220lbs
Weiner pushes into the quarters with a 3-2 ultimate overtime win -- gotta be the 5th ive watched in the lat 3 weeks
CT1 goes down in round of 16 here
Gjinaj into the quaters at 195
MAU 195 lost by pin on the top side of the bracket, Gjinaj went OT with him this year and avoids the semi matchup with him this year.
Licastri and Commander into the quarters on opposite sides -- Both have a shot at making finals IMO
Nodden into the Quarters with a Fall - This kid has been on Fire Since Friday night of opens and has a chance to knock off a Springfield Central as well
Sousa with a decision to make quarters
Angers Into the quarter at 160 - Wrestling Alvan of Springfield Central who most from New England feel is the favorite at this weight. Let's go Angers get yourself into the Semis and Help Danbury out along the way! lol
Mazur and Adams into the Quaters at 152 - both sitting in the top side of the Bracket
Sung, Shaughessy and Veleas push into the quaters - Leblanc drops one for Danbury
Springfield Central takes some losses - looks like the team race is going to be Danbury, Bishop hendricken and Timberlane
Johnson and Mastro into the quaters
Schand got handled by the Mass1 11-2 and then pinned - going to be a interesting semi for S. Johnson
Fields into the Quarters with a Pin _ Danbury with 10 bonus points already! gonna need it if they want to take home the tittle!
All other 132 into the Losers Brackert - 132 is deep!!
4 into the quarters at 126
jack with the pin - Has Mass 1 next, i think this is the toughest match for him this weekend.
Ebert beats Timberlane Freshman Cody Wild to advance
Coniglio wins by Pin and will wrestle Ebert - Winner to Semis!
Folino with a good win to advance
3 into the quarters at 120 - Fin, Johnson and Sutton.
Johnson picks up the pin for Danbury and faces Sutton next - Winner is into the semis and CT has its first guaranteed placer
Cyr and Longo into the Quarters at 113 - I think they both push into the Semis
CT 2/5 in R16 at 106 - Rapuano and Thompson push into the quarters. O'dell drops to consi's for Danbury -
Fry vs. Rapuano Semis is going to be awesome! should be finals match up!!
