I doubt it. It's not just the kids we have to worry about, but coaches and referees. Remember, we lost coach Day of Berlin to the regular flu 2 years ago. About 50% or better of seasons I ser see the flu or a nasty cold RIP through my team, there's no way to stop it.
How many people die every year from the "regular" flu? How many died THIS year from the "regular" flu? No one is talking about those numbers. The 100,000 death rate number for Covid 19 is GROSSLY inflated. No matter what the cause of death was/is, if the patient tested positive for covid 19 they were/are scored as a covid 19 death. The people that are vulnerable to the covid 19 virus are the same people vulnerable to the regular flu or any illness for that matter. They obviously need to be careful. Did this virus catch us off guard? I guess it did, but our people are doing an unbelievable job of catching up.Vaccine soon would be very, very positive. How many asymptomatic people are out there? I think the number is huge. All we can hope for is the number of hospitalizations and deaths continue to decline so their worst case scenario doesn't develop. They will have no viable argument to keep us locked down if the data does not support it. Do we need to be careful? Absolutely. Do we need to return to normal based on actual facts? ABSOLUTELY. Lets hope that the data continues to flow in the right direction so we can have a normal season for ALL sports next school year.
with the chances of a high school kid being in any type of danger from contracting the chinese virus, being extremely low. They should have wrestling. But I would give it a 50/50 chance as of today.
