Don't think Chris Piel would be bothered in the least by that ;) I doubt if he cares whether his guys are listed here, he'd like them to perform in competition, and fly under the radar if they can.
@scott It is mandated by the CIAC to report results, but there's no penalty for not, so many coaches just... don't. and then you have things like the absolute idiocy over at Somers where their school has decided that they can't put their wrestlers NAMES into Flo because it violates some privacy law. (which is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard). But that with Somers, and other coaches priding themselves on not reporting results, throws a wrench into the CIAC's efforts to make reporting mandatory.
although the biggest factor is coaches entering individual results into Flo, finding them can be a little tricky as well. the easiest way to view an individual's results all in one place is to find them on any bracket of any Flo tournament (scroll down the page on arena past all upcoming events until you see past stuff). from the on-line bracket, just click on the wrestler. it will then show all the results for that wrestler. here is an example using a kid from the Warde tourney whose coach probably won't mind me posting it...

Except those lists seem to only output matches from TOURNAMENTS and not matches from Duals. Flo is not a system designed for anything but running tournaments. All it's other functions are a clunky joke.
There is no easy way to search results on Flo because you're constantly reformatting the search, and there is no way to search a specific wrestler that brings up their individual results that I've found. Only results seem to be video if they've been at a tournament that's been livestreamed.
I love going through this stuff every year, but this year it's become too much of a job. I could handicap the few tournaments and duals I've seen, but that's about it. It's an odd year in Connecticut wrestling too with all the guys who've dropped or moved. CIAC has a publicity problem imo.
I don't think I saw a single conference breakdown this year on GameTimeCT or any of the local papers. It all flows to GT now anyway.
I agree , the results really need to be posted with more detail to ctwrestling because I also agree that Flo can be a pita! As far as wrestling different weights goes, once the two pound allowances kick in bumping up and down weights is normally done by the coaches to give them an advantage over their opponent. It’s normally not the wrestlers choice, it’s where a team can gain more bonus points based on the skill of the opponent and their own talent. If he/she certified for 160, they should wrestle 160. I’m sure there are instances where someone just gains weight and has to bump up to 170 mid season . Overall record is overall record not per weight Class. If a kid bumps up from a tough weight class at 160 to a easy weight class at 170 that is frowned upon in my opinion. Now I’m not saying 160 is tough and 170 isn’t , I’m saying some years one class is stacked and another is much more watered down. It happened at 160 & 170 in the past few years where one was much much tougher than the other.
I have a question...If a wrestler wrestles 1/2 of his matches at 160 and the other half at 170...how does that work as far as rankings for State and Conference? For example if one wrestler wrestled all of his matches at their set weight of 170, but another wrestler was able to wrestle at other weight class such as 160 and then wrestle at state for 170. Should those wins at 160 be included in record for placement? Is that not fair for wrestler who competed at 170 all along?
Something along the lines of 75 dual matches with 6 detailed results. Coaches aren't sending match results to ctwrestling.com. Haven't checked FloArena yet because that's a huge PITA to go through them all tbh.
@BeWater I agree, that does suck! Why can’t ctwrestling , since he is only one guy do the leg work and pull the scored from flo? Coaches shouldn’t have to do both. It sounds like he just wants everything handed to him to look like the hero. I have no issue not going on ctwrestling ever again , if Flo is constantly up to date or visa versa. That being said , Flo is much nicer for looking things up. Hell i’m about to start my own website since this one has gone to hell. No offense to anyone running it but it is pretty bad! Never updated, no chatter, no new content. I get it and I’m not talking ill but I’m just calling it how I see it. We really need to advertise it to new wrestling parents I guess, or start a new one that can be updated by someone who cares. To me it seems like the moderators don’t really care, but hey that’s just my 2 cents which is worth that. I would love to see some activity and updating.
@BeWater I get it BeWater. There's only so much time in the day, and you've dedicated time to the sport that is not compensated particularly well. I didn't mean for my comments to come across as a complaint about scores not being sent to ctwrestling, but as an explanation why there is not as much analysis on the boards.
My biggest frustration is in their haste to get the information logged onto a reliable database (FLO), they ended up choosing a platform that is really time consuming to use. If I could go to a wrestlers name and pull up the data I need that would be great, but I need to pull down more results multiple times at the bottom of the page, not to mention they have a lifetime historical record that you end up having to double check information to make sure you're accurate
@mophie flo arena sn't that hard to click on a particular wrestler, Go to results, type in team name, click on a match they have done recently, click on brackets, click on the #1 , then click the match you want, then click the wrestlers name 3 times. All of their matches that are on flo or have been reported which isn't all unfortunately, pop up. I know it's not a perfect, easy way to get info , but it's the best we have as of now.
That being said , we do have a ton of results that we can actually view which do not get updated here at all. Kids are clearly viewable at different weights that this site has them on. Even when we bring them up to the so called no existent moderators nothing changes. This site will absolutely fail if the people who are delegated to keep up with it dont start doing their job. At the end of the day I agree with both of you but we need to figure something out that works right?
He's right....this has stifled discussions about how people fit. There just isn't much information being published this year in comparison to past years.
I know about these sites but many dual scores are missing on ctwrestling.com. Tournaments like I said above are posted so those can be seen by all on those sites.
If teams would post their meet results rankings wouldn't be as hard to determine. I see many teams that look to duck out on posting results (possibly as a strategy...idk). Only time you have an opportunity to see who is wrestling and at what weight class wrestlers are competing in is during tournaments. Problem I see is that there are few local news papers and the few papers (online or print) that are around now defer to GametimeCT, which again does not post or does not have access to wrestling results.
If Rapuano does wrestle 120 that makes 113 a easy win for O’Dell. Almost easier for a heavy 106 to jump up and go for it as 106 has 5 solid guys who can all knock each other off on a good day. 106 is definitely going to be a fun open weight to watch. Seeding is going to play a large role in the outcome of it.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I have been working all day on an update (got zero work done today, don't tell the boss). I think I have incorporated all the comments I have received, but please please please give it a good look-over and let me know if I missed anything else.
Yes, 120 is brutal. 5 returning class placers + this North Haven young man (Iamunno) who looks very legit is turning this weight into must watch TV. 138 is also shaping up to be really good with two open placers + New Milfords Khalil Bourjelli, who has already beaten Tommy Nichols (last year open 3rd placer). Add Quin Rogers from E.O. Smith, 4th in Class, and Xavien Reid from Harding who was a blood rounder last year, going be good at this weight. 160 and 182 are also pretty strong weight classes. Class L is looking as tough as I've ever seen it.
I dropped Tyler Sung, New Canaan, off as he has not wrestled yet this year and I understand that he has had offseason surgery and may not wrestle this year. He clearly would be at #1 at any weight he goes, but until I get some results, I left him off the rankings. As for Peter Coniglio, he has no results this year as well. I have no idea what the story is there, so if anyone can shed light on this, I’d appreciate it. I am looking for him each week and he will obviously be a top ranked wrestler when I start to see any results. He is on the New Milford roster and I believe he has a younger brother who is on the team (and has results).
@Matratohboy Thank you so much for bringing Joe Iamunno to my attention. I was not following North Haven wrestling at all (didn't think they even had a team). It sounds like he is a very talented wrestler and beat some good wrestlers last weekend at the Warde Inv. He'll be on my rankings in the next update.
We have 4 rankers now, so various times. However team rankings were updated last night as was the LL and the open. Still some tweaking to do to match weights and to fix a couple head to head matchup changes. Tomorrow M’s will be cleaned up as will the opens and prep rankings will be introduced!
Surprised to see Montville in the top 10 for dual teams! They were hit hard by graduation, lost to NFA last week and have had a "easy" dual schedule so far.
Iamunno (120) won the Warde tourney as a frosh pinning Brannigan in finals. He is Class L and I think should be as high as 3rd. Kid is a multiple time New England champ and is very good.
Class L rankings just got updated just a couple hours ago. I will try to update class L rankings each Monday going forward. Updates are a bit slow at first as kids weight classes are still quite fluid, but the weight changes should settle and rankings should as well.
He’s too tall to fly under the radar lol
Yep. He doesn't care. He is def. trying to fly under the radar though.
Maybe any Somers and New Milford wrestlers who are ranked on this website should just be listed as HM until their coaches conform.
It's the PUSSIFICATION OF OUR YOUTH!
Coach Piel from New Milford doesn't put his results in on purpose ;-)

Ctwrestling.com and flowrestling.org you can find most box scores

Coniglio was with the team but not dressed when I saw New Milford earlier this year.
