How about a little competition for the LL, L, M, and S fans regarding the final pre-Class tournament rankings? One idea is to see which Class rankings most accurately reflect the post Class tournament results? For example 14 x 6 is 84 total spots to fill per Class.
Who will have the highest accuracy re: rankings? LL, L, M or S? I suggest as long as the person is ranked in the top 6, and finishes in the top 6 then that counts as an accurate prediction. Anyone who is listed in the top 6 and does not finish in the top six counts as a failed prediction. The highest percentage of the 84 predicted spots wins.
Wow that was a close competition. I believe it may be more challenging for the LL and L Rankers because there appear to be more wrestlers capable of placing in those classes than in M and S. I really think the CIAC needs to make reporting results mandatory with a penalty for failure to do so. In this day and age keeping results secret, in my opinions, is bull....
S-66/84
M-69/84
L-68/84
LL-67/84(could have tied for 2nd if you had put grabinski in at 113 like I said lol)
so
1st place -M
2nd place -L
3rd place-LL
4th place-S
So I got 66 out of 84 placers correct, I don't know how that lines up with the other rankers, but I feel like I did OK, but not great. Looking back at it there were 2-3 upsets I should have seen coming, 1-2 kids that absolutely should not have been ranked. and a couple weights were it would have been pretty much impossible for all 6 guys to place because of how the brackets lined up.
MY RANKINGS OF THE RANKERS PREDICTION
1. L Ranker will win
2. LL Ranker
3. M Ranker
4. S Ranker
Sorry for the late response, I took control over the Class M rankings and updated it with my predictions. I removed the h2h and removed guys who were not in the seed charts. Best of luck to everyone competing this weekend.
So is this taking away head to head wins? Is this purely based on upsets you anticipate might happen? Where are these rankings being posted if they are different from the main rankings Which do include head to head wins/loses?
Rankers, there is not much time lift for you to get your final pre-class tourney rankings done. I am going to make predictions about which Rankers will come in first, second, third, and last. Other non-rankers, feel free to joint the frenzy. My prediction about which Ranker will make the best predictions is still in the workings. Do you think CTwrestling will list the LL and L seeding charts tomorrow?
@BeWater @sanctuss7 How do you guys feel about the Key wins and Key losses tabs? Sanctuss I know you don't use them. Should we just clear them for a clean look or maybe a different stat?
Lol how about fastest to win every match. Say a few pin their way through, who does it faster. Lol
Not arguing RJ as MOW as nobody could touch him or even make him break a sweat for that matter. As far as most pins? I bet there are a few who will pin there way through their brackets, so he may have a few ties there.
Sounds good! excited for it. For MOW LL's I'm gonna have to go Ryan Jack from Danbury. And I think that he will have the most pins as well. However if we are talking team...then still, Danbury.
I was thinking individual wrestler but it is up to the Rankers to decide.
@scott I am in agreement, sounds good. Great idea, glad you suggested it. Class L MOW is Tyler Sung, New Canaan. Most pins, I'll go with a dark horse here, Bristol Central (I assume you mean team and not individual wrestler).
BeWater, Sanctuss7, Maxscwartz077, and ?
Are you all in agreement the scoring will be 1 point for each wrestler who is ranked in the top 6 and places in the top 6 at the Class Tournaments?
The highest number wins? As a tiebreaker, how about having each Ranker predict who they think will win MOW as criteria No. 1, and who will have the most pins in each Class tournament for criteria No. 2?
It can be based on the the last rankings as of midnight next Thursday. Are you all on board? If not, let us know.
I'm in for the challenge. I like the idea of it just being 1 point per placer who was ranked in the top 6 . I'm pretty confident in my rankings. Though I love to see a good upset at the tournament.
@scott
I agree, leave the HMs out. I have done HMs in the past, but have not this year. Too hard to decide how many HMs to have. Also, you would need to have the same number of HMs in each weight. Some of my weights, I am struggling to find 6 to rank. 220 is particularly thin this year in class L, I wouldn't be surprised if the class L bracket for 220 has 12 or less wrestlers in it this year.
I think leaving them out makes sense. Otherwise there would have to be an agreement from all 4 Rankers as to how many HMs to have included for each weight.
I'm In for LL's here. Are we not including taking honorable mentions into account at all then?
Bragging rights is all I need. And oh yes, i will brag (if I win).
Let's hear from the other primary rankers? I am hoping others who follow this site will help the primary people responsible for the rankings by putting in their two cents. The best Class Ranker can get some kind or prize or reward for their
great skills and insights into HS wrestling talents. If not, they will still have bragging rights.
