Yes I agree with you . Longo, and Lindner have a long history, as do O’Dell and Longo as practice partners with Hamilton as well at Beast. Defonce has wrestled all of them many times usually falling short of the win at least against Longo and Lindner. In my opinion the only reason O’Dell and Longo’s matches were somewhat close is because they were practice partners but from what I’m aware of he has yet to defeat Longo. I guess that’s the same with Defonce and O’Dell being practice partners. I saw that Thompson and Longo have 2 match ups coming up in the next few weeks ( colter abbey and ct challenge) so we will see what happens there , but I would bet the outcome may be different than the last match now that Mike knows what to expect. It’s always tough being a freshman wrestling juniors and seniors who you’ve never seen before. Earthed way we are getting into the heart of the gauntlet and we will see who rises to the occasion and who drops down. Some of these kids feed off of the pressure while some can’t handle it and drop down.
Ok, to me head to head and winning is a much better indicator of rankings and who’s the tougher wrestler. Wrestling partner at practice or not he still won in a head to head live match. Anyone who knows wrestling jimmy may beat Timmy , and Timmy may beat Billy, but that doesn’t mean Jimmy is going to beat Billy. In my opinion head to head is a true way to look at ranking. So with O’Dell finishing in a tournament higher than defonce to me only means that he got put on the easier side of the bracket and Jake had to wrestle the champion before O’Dell had to. Understand what I’m saying?
Defonce did beat O'dell 5-3 at the Plainville Tournament at the start of the season. Although Defonce wrestles for Abott, he practices and trains with Danbury High school and has trained with O'dell for a number of years. Defonce has the head to head win, and o'dell has placed higher then him in both the Danbury holiday and SWAT Maine tournament.
Ohh snap! Rapuano just beat gods gift to wrestling! So according to the O’Dell theory he must now be ranked best in the universe!!!!!!!!!!!!! All hail Rapuano! Rapuano for president! Or does that not count because he’s not Danbury?..................hmmmmmmmmmmm don’t worry they will just duck him from now on anyways!
He's been 106 his whole career. Last year 3rd at opens and 5th at new englands, I think he's beaten a few good guys. Including both ahead of him.
I noticed you moved Dan Charron to #3. Just wondering why not higher? He beat Rappuano 14-5 at opens last year and beat Breault 8-3 at M's
Dan Charron was at 106 today at GHO. Should most likely move to #1 in state rankings
Brault pinned Marselli today
