So I was bored and compiled data from way back in the decade and some more relevant to try and make an accurate Connecticut High School Wrestling "All-Decade" Team. Let me know what you guys think. (If there is no class placement assume they won the tournament)

Note: Wrestlers are put in to what they wrestled their senior year (except Ryan Jack but he needs to be on this list)
Tim Kane?
Hakim Fleming?
Nico Provo?
Tim Kane I feel just doesn’t have the accolades of his brother and Ryan Jack must be on this list somewhere, Kane however would definitely be an honorable mention. Fleming also maybe interchangeable with Burchell as both were talented. and as for Provo I honestly was just not taking prep schools into considerations but he would definitely be in the run for 120
Paul Calo? Jakob Camacho? Mel Ortiz, Kyle Fields, Ryan Devivo? Missing a ton of great wrestlers!
Paul Calo is a name that should be on here as a two time New England champ however I just think him missing his senior season was huge. And for Jakob Camacho and Mel Ortiz, I just don’t think the accolades and dominance surpasses Kevin Jack at 126 and for Fields he is a great wrestler but 2x NE champ JoJo Gonzalez has him beat in my book. And Devivo just slipped my mind completely
@maxschwartz077 Thanks for putting together a thread that was sure to stir the pot and get some conversation going. Your List is solid! Jojo ever Feilds at 132 is worth comparison, either way they would be a fit for the decade team.
The result career comaparison leans heavy to Fields in my opinion, and the comparison at 132 in it self is very close, thats why i go Feilds here. 3x All American and 4x open placer and 4x class champ is tough to look past. No New England Titles to match Jojo, but then again Feilds had Mcgonagle in the Feild who was a top 20 recruit in the class of 2019. Feilds has wins over Mcgonagle (Lehigh) and Reece Whitcraft (OKSTATE) in his NHSCA runs, both these guys are set to be 4 year starters at the D1 level. I did not take the time to run through all of Jojo stats and results, they just werent as easy to find as Danbury has a very consistant results page on their website.
Feilds Career Results
2016: LL Champ, 3rd Open, NHSCA AA
2017: LL Champ, Open Champ, NHSCA AA
2018: LL Champ, 4th Open
2019: LL Champ, Open Champ, 2nd NE, NHSCA AA
@Run.the.Pipes agreed!
He missed his senior year because he had a torn labrum. He shouldn’t be penalized for a season ending injury that required surgery. He would have been a easy state champ and New England champ last year. Look at what he did in three years, and was the only CT kid to win Lowell 3X , and look at who he lost to (devivo), and Devivo lost to Paul. Those two are a must add!
Falbo, Haviland, Trelli, Cannone?
Falbo is there, Haviland his senior year was 126 and I don't think he was better than Kevin Jack. Trelli never placed higher than 3rd at New Englands which still is the same as the 120 I have (Kyle Linder's) best Finish. and for Cannone for all the success he had in college he never won a New England Title. I tried to keep it to one for weight class but I guess I should have added at least 2 Honorable Mentions or runner ups to commemorate all the other greats we had throughout the decade
@maxschwartz077 a hm would be good to add as I think sometimes certain brackets can be light where it's easier to gain accolades while other really good kids are in stacked brackets, and have to really strive just to place.
I love that you put Charlie Kane didn’t compete due to injury , but paul Calo who i stated his accolades above gets no recognition? Jakob Camacho is ranked #19 in the country division 1 . Lol you need to figure your shit out dude.
such bs! Seems you have lots of favorites
Look man you seem to be getting real hostile and you act like this is an official USA wrestling article. I see you talking about how the forum is dead on here sometimes so I decided to spice it up and try something I’ve never seen before. You wanna make your own? be my guest
Calo is the only wrestler that I will admit I left out and probably deserves a spot. I'm the biggest Camacho fan there is but I decided to go with the older Danbury 126 who set the trend of going to the school where Camacho is ranked at. Like I said before I could have and should have probably included an honorable mention with at least 2 wrestlers that anyone can probably argue could be the true number 1 of the decade in that weight
@maxschwartz077 Thanks for your effort! This is all subjective and not official and at least you tried to put something different out there. Maybe this will spark others to put time like you did and contribute their own rankings.
Cool list. Thanks for the effort. Don't worry about morons who have nothing to add but only look to criticize.
Nothing to add? I think I added quite a few names there scoolboylover! Glad to see you taking a break from drooling over 285 lb kids and making an appearance this year.
@sweep the leg! Lol - you been sitting on the drool comment fir a while? Been waiting for my appearance so you could bust it out? BTW, you ever figure out what impressive means?
@scoolover nope! Not at all! You don't impress me one bit !
Mike Ross came to mind but Luth is there at 152, but geez he was good.
Ross was great! Also from that Foran team, Edmondson @285 from Foran is worth a mention. 3X M champ, 2nd at Opens 2015, Open Champ 2016. 140+ wins according to Ctwrestlingonline record book.
OK let’s get serious at 113. Nick Arborio, Sean Johnson, Alejandro Garcia, Devon Shoenberger, and Robert Hartling would all have beaten Kosman. A senior at 113 should be winning it all. It’s the underclassmen who win that are special. Besides what they do in college matters the most because brackets at the High School level in CT can be really tough or really easy. Winning and losing shouldnt be the deciding factor for an “all decade team” it’s WHO you wrestle that counts and college will be the ultimate judge.
Great article. Def should finish this off with some HM. here are some suggestions.
Khamri Thomas 3 x open champ... 4 x open place winner... NE Champ.
Juan Garcia from Danbury?
Hakim Fleming 2 x S Champ. 2 x open place winner. NE Champ.
