    How IT Looks Elsewhere

    in General Discussion

So for those who have never met me, I am a transplant in the state of Connecticut. I grew up in California and the Navy put me here. Neither bad nor good, just some differences. Neither of the 2 schools in the attached video are mine, but it does demonstrate a big difference in how Wrestling gets promoted and celebrated, especially between these two bitter rivals. I'm posting this as Ledyard gets set to travel into HOSTILE territory this Wednesday in Windham. Enjoy:

    Plankowner,

You bring up an interesting topic for discussion. Which Connecticut High School wrestling team has the best fan support? I have not been to enough matches to judge but I am sure many fans and coaches have an idea on the topic. By the way, congratulations to Ledyard for a very impressive performance Saturday. The Day had a great article on the meet and does a good job reporting on local wrestling in eastern Connecticut. I am starting to save up for coffee.

An excellent question, from any of the meets I have been to, I would reluctantly say I think Windham has one of the best (Loudest) fan bases. I am expecting thier Gym to be loud and in to it on Wednesday evening for Ledyard's Dual with the Whippets. Bristol Eastern and Fairfield Warde teammates were loud in Ledyrad's gym this past weekend.

In the Norwich Bulletin, Windham Coach Pat Risley had the following to say of the Class S tournamnet:

"I thought at the beginning of the season that it would be an all-ECC affair," Risley said. "The only potential party crasher, is possibly Haddam-Killingworth" according to the Windham coach.
