I think Branford will do much better than many HS wrestling fans expected going into this season.

Definitely agree. They are a formidable team despite what many others think. They've beaten Foran and East Haven, two very good teams and are 21-1 for the season losing only to Xavier. Not much attention to them though, I have a feeling they will do very well at SCC's and M's.

I would have to say Staples-Westport. a Couple years ago they were in the lower tier of the FCIAC now they are in the top 10 state poll with a solid lineup throughout

True. Maybe Staples is most improved and Branford is most underrated.

I agree with Staples, coaches Fred , and Paulo have really done great things for that program.

I agree Staples has stepped up in the last few years. Wondering if they have had a youth program to help them out? Anyone know? I know they used to have one, but I do not know if it is still active. Hard to compete with these big FCIAC schools without good feeder programs. Schools like Danbury and Warde year in and year out get most kids from the youth wrestling. Norwalk/McMahon is starting to slowly benefit from strong youth program.

How about HK, they have a very good young team, and suprised me for sure. On the flip side. Hand, Newtown, really seem to have slipped.

    I would say Staples over HK. HK has been hanging around top 3 in S for a while: 2019: 3rd; 2018: 3rd; 2017: 4th: 2016: 4th; 2015: 3rd. Whereas Staples popped from 17th in LL in 2018 to 5th in 2019 and this year???
