Saturday Recaps

Apparently J'mari Lowman moved to Rhode Island yesterday. Carson LiCastri moved up to 195 and defeated Joe Gjinaj. Michael Rapuano won his bracket as an underweight 113, will move to 106 after the two pound allowance. Will Ebert won his bracket at 126 pretty handily.

Up at the Shelton invitational, GFA won it all going 5/7 in the finals. Most impressively Mikey Bartush (145) and Peter Kane (132) both freshmen. Sam White from Norwalk wrecked is way through the tournament at 120 as Ray and Matt Weiner did at 220 and 285 for Shelton

Simsbury dominated the Wethersfield tourney. 3 freshman won their brackets. This team is legit! Could be the best team Simsbury’s had in a while.

Simsbury is an excellent team. Top 5 for sure, maybe top 3.

Max Schlein, Senior from Berlin, pinned Trinidad Gonzalez, senior from Bristol Eastern, in 1:55 at the CJ MCCormack tournament at 220 pounds (according to floarena: https://arena.flowrestling.org/event/20020ed8-2b06-0d91-401e-2f2e3b29b14a). Gonzalez is the returning state open runner up at 195 from the prior year. This is quite an upset from my perspective.
