Can anyone challenge Danbury this year seeing they've lost a few key players - Camacho, Kovaks, Beratta

Trumbull should climb up the ranks with the lower 1/2 of there weights pretty solid with the Ryan brothers and now the Longo brothers.
New Canaan should place well, not sure of any new blood coming in.
Westhill was actually ranked 19 last year and have some hammers on their team that should place them higher this year.
If Simsbury really has some good freshman coming in then they'll be one to watch

I think under CIAC transfer rules that means Travis won't be eligible until they complete half of their matches.

@mikspik wow this kid must be the real deal ! Can’t say I’ve heard of him , all I know of him is that Khalil won their states match pretty handily. New freshman coming in are always a wuestion mark. You can’t compare what they did at a youth level with HS . I’ve seen kids at youth that were mediocre and do great, and kids that were great in youth do mediocre in HS. Time will tell all.

@sweep the leg! I agree usually the kids that placed high consistently in the states in youth continue to do so in high school. But puberty plays a big role. Some kids peak at different ages. Either way - stepping into high school, wresting older stronger kids is a challenge for all the incoming !

Xavier has at least 4 hammers, and an always solid team. East Haven will be much improved. Warde is set up to be top 2 or 3 for the next few years.
I would go Danbury, Warde, Trumbull, Xavier, Eastern, Southington, Simsbury, Killingly, New Caanan, Windham.

I would definitely agree with those rankings as a starting point. Danbury has taken a step down as warde and Trumbull have both taken a step up. Should be a fun season that’s for sure.

Simsbury has 4 freshman that will all start and have chances to place in L's. Sam Bergin, multiple NE Champ, John Mairano NE champ, Carter Sirios multiple NE place finisher, Cael and Ryan Finn- multiple state place finishers. They will have 8 soph/frosh starters.

Trumbull, Xavier and Bristol Eastern will be very tough. Danbury has 3-4 studs but took a big hit with the loss of Kovacs.
