106 - Dan Charron really should be 2nd based on his career and results at Open last year. Nothing to indicate things have changed.
113 - Mike Charron popped up at 113, looks like his eligibility issues are past him. Would probably slot him and Martial Sutton in above Liam Knight.
120 - Najji Powell-Keyton is probably a little high based on results this year.
182 - LiCastri is definitely at 182
I would have to agree with those , although I feel that there may be some competition that might give Danny some competition at opens. Mike has a easier bracket than Dan in my opinion. not necissarily easier once he gets to semis and finals but there are a lot of hammers at 106 that can all take eachother out and make things interesting. Rapuano looked great yesterday that’s all I have to say! He is going to be tough for anyone in the bracket to beat.
I heard Ben Kibby tore his ACL and is out for the season.
Happened at the Bossi tournament? It didn't look good. That sucks.
If someones not wrestling at what point do you remove him form the rankings ? Mastrioni ranked 1 has been out most of the season and not sure if he is even returning ?
Well, he's been back for a couple of weeks and thrashing everyone. Whom would you rank above him?
@Innocent Bystander who did he wrestle in the last 2 weeks? I saw he took a forfeit last dual but that’s about it.
@chuck Kyle Merritt from Chariho is probably the biggest win (Rhode Island). Also Cole Dirico (Ledyard-Fall), James Balogh (Lyman/Windham-Tech Fall), and he pinned every opponent in the Branford Shoreline Scuffle 1/26. I didn't see every match at Branford, but I don't think anyone made it out of the first round. I don't have the brackets, so I can't give names.
I don't know who is better between Justin and Tyler Sung (Tyler just won Eastern States at 145), but they constantly wrestle each other in practice and it is a sight to see. I wish I could sneak in a camera. Just Wow.
Justin? Nobody if he is back and healthy.
He’s definitely back! I saw he wrestled against Greenwich, and Ledyard in the last week.
Sam White should have O'Brien as a key win in the Opens ranking. Both 113 and 120 are straight up for grabs. Crazy. I was surprised by the Cyr-Currier outcome. Kudos to Drew. That's a GREAT win! I'm looking forward to Parrot-Fields. I hope I see them a few times in the post season.
Parrot wrestled a Kid from NY at the Ridgefield Open and lost 9-0. 132 at that tourney was brutal. There were some really high level kids at that tourney at most weights.
@Matratohboy That kid is from St Anthonys Preston Maucere. He's beaten Ryan jack, Sammy Alvarez from NJ and Zach Redding NY All top ranked in the nation. He's a beast !
Fields beat Eamon Tolland 4-3. Parrot beat Tolland 9-2. So it should be interesting. But everyone knows, styles make matches.
Oh and Smart from Ridgefield beat a kid from NY with something Like 150 wins, he wrestled a great match. He looked very good.
Ben Smart Beat Chris Cook from John Jay Cross River 134 wins. Smart has 127 wins HS career. He also Beat Accomondo from Trinity Pawling and Semolina from Coventry at the Challenge, Semolina Won Chavez Tournament at Simsbury. Smarts only loss is to Mariano at Wethersfield This year.
Damn spell check REMOLINA!!
@Funk_Roll daaaaaaammmnnnnnnn! That Smart kid is Nooooo joke! I’ve always said it, and will continue to say it.
132 Devin Matthew's beat julian 8-0, should be ranked
Devin is a very good, tough wrestler. He got even better over the summer before this season started. I don't think he's wrestled any highly ranked kids yet, but i expect he will do really well. I would have him in the top 5 for sure at 32.
Matthews from Gilbert should definitely be on open ranking above Julian due to Devin beating him recently. 132
Agree Matthews warrants top 5, open rankings not matching class rankings as he is ahead of Julian in class S so should be ahead of him in open rankings.
needs updating. Mairino and Pera have swapped weights.
