In the ECC (mostly S schools) there were 9 1 vs 2 matches and 5 1 vs 3 matches in the finals. Only 3 "upsets" if a 2 or 3 over a 1 are upsets. Depends on the individuals I guess. At 145, Richardson (Killingly) over Maddox (Fitch). Mackenzie at 195 and Williams at 220 from New London also won as lower seeds. I would call Williams over Ryan from East Lyme/Norwich Tech an upset. Killingly in a year or will be a threat to win the open.
Ohh yeah! Starting at 195 was a great decision. It started the night off with a lot of action back and forth which really got the crowd involved. 220 was another thrilling match, 285 ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe the first 5 seconds, then watch paint dry for another 5:30 minutes then a fun last 30 seconds. 106-182 were all very exciting , with a lot of fast paced action. Lots of fans were involved , and the banter was perfect. Everyone there had a great night from what I saw. 106 was exciting because I personally love the speed of the little guys, lots of rolling and scrambling , the crowd loved it. 113 was another awesome match to watch, Odell and Coleman really went at it with Coleman closing the gap from their last match up. Odell has proven that he is one of the top wrestlers to best at 113, and looked great.120 was crazy! I think Pena learned abruptly not to tie up with a BULL! Kevin was wrestling a great match then made one mistake! One little mistake which cost him dearly. I think Kevin is smart enough to learn from that next week when they meet again. 126 was IMO was bush and a show off! I don’t like that stuff. I’ve seen Johnson on his back flopping like a fish many times over the years , and maybe a little humbleness is needed. Tyler is too good of a wrestler for this, and just makes Danbury look bad! I know my sons coach would have probably sat any one of our kids if they did what he did. Although something looks cool, it’s demeaning, and outright wrong to show dominance by belittling your opponent. 132 was another fun one , Jack and Matt both put on a show., 138.....................no explanation lol, 145, whoah 145 was a awesome match! Ebert and Kovacs both fought to the very end. You could see the fight and grit in both these boys. What a show that match was! One of my personal favorites of the night. 152 was a great match of talent, speed, techniqe, friendship! I love both those boys and have known them both for years. Sad to see them move on, but let’s enjoy them for the next few weeks. 160 , holy crap 160!!! Camacho looked stronger than I’ve ever seen him, in rare and awesome form. Trying to get revenge from 2 season losses the match took many turns back and forth and came down to the wire. Molina ended up winning 6-4 but man they both have heart!!! 170 went as expected, Tommy looked really tough today, and is going to be a favorite in opens for sure. 182 was the Gilchrist show all day long.
FCIACs was great! Dewinter got Pina to his back when he was down 8-3 to come back and get the pin. Gilchrest and Jones was fireworks at 182 with Gilchrest coming away with a pin. 220 was close between donovan and Cocchia with donovan winning 8-6
No it was NOT an Enfield Fan, it could have been a Southington or Simsbury Fan.
Thank you for the vocabulary lesson.
Nobody will ever beat Danbury! #danburystartsatage3

Ccc large was exciting, pretty much as expected. Simsbury and Southington dominated but Enfield was fun to watch, first time seeing them wrestle
