Great tournmant! I have updated the Class L rankings for the results of the Class tournament. See my post-mortem in another thread (this one is getting long).
@203 Yes he diid. he cruised through the bracket. He also beat the same kid he is talking about at SCCs easy. As for the second year wrestler thing I remember a kid Mike Burchell won Ls in his second year. So.....
@sanctuss7 I was just curious to know if he beat any good kids this year. He was ranked high at opens as well, there is just nothing for key wins listed. He was good last year at 106, and he lost to David Charron early in the year 7-0 at 126
Not sure what to do with Ruiz. A good win, no doubt, but this is his only result against a Connecticut wrestler (https://www.flowrestling.org/athletes/e7b1da95-c67a-4ce0-9c54-038d23a82b93/results). Wrestled the Nashoba and Timberlane wrestlers (split). Do I put him in the top 2 with only one in-state match? I don't have any Xavier results from last weekend, so I don't know if he wrestled again.
I'll keep an eye on Ruiz at the SCC tournament this weekend and if he does well, I'll get him on the list. Let me know what you think.
Very tough and strong. He has been out most of the season but is back @100%. Just needs to get in shape which he will do over the next 2 weeks. Should be a high place finisher at L’s. Would be surprised to see him in the title match.
Pera and Mairano should be switched in weight classas heard they are Definitely flip flopping weights for the remainder of the season. They both certified at 126.
What about Aiden Brown and Andrew Oken, is that their 138 and 145 pounder (with Noah Pryzbek out of the starting linup now)? I am going to assume it is the case for now. But let me know and i'll update it.
@sanctuss7 if Pryzbek comes back Aiden might be the odd man out. Pryzb did wrestle one match at New Fairfield but that was it. Not sure whats going on. Let’s see what happens in the match Wed against Farmington. I do know Pera is at 132 and Mairano is at 126.
Something seems to be wrong with Dylan Garcia. Can someone fill me in. After a very strong first half of the season, finishing 3rd @ Danbury Holiday Tourn, winning the Bristol Central Inv., 6th at Cumberland, 2nd at Colter Abely, he went 0-2 (both pins) at the Connecticut Challenge and now pinned by unranked Simsbury Wrestler. This is the upset that turned the Bristol Eastern Simsbury Dual.
No disrespect intended to Mr. Araniti, who is also a very good wrestler, but it seems there has been a drop off by Mr. Garcia
I have moved Araniti into the rankings. 182 should be a tough weight this year.
Looks like Mariano wrestled at 126 today at new Fairfield. There was a 4 lb allowance. Did he cert at that weight at the beginning of the year ? would that effect their win over BE. ?
I agree with both of you. My mistake on Austin Roberston. I had him going 1-2 at last years Class L tournament (obviously not qualifying for opens). I realize now I was looking at his younger brother Aiden's results. 5th at the opens is no joke. I agree, #2 behind Mastroianni is right. It will be updated after the weekends results.
Tommy Mangianello (126) is from Xavier, not Bristol Eastern.

Dube should be 1 at 195
Correction: Ruiz, Xavier 195 (HM L) over BIlly Ives, # 2 M's 182 lbs.
Beat # 2 Ls, Dube last week at Hand.
Najii Powell Keyton is at 120 not 126.
Looks like some possible weight changes. Shabazz to 132, Laurie to 138.
Marcelius Ruiz Xavier (NR) over Alex Dube, Hand (# 2 L’s) in OT 3-1 at 195lbs at Hand 1-29-19.

I don’t remember Pera from last year? Tough kid. Lost a close match to Nichols 3-2

Simsbury Araniti 182 pined Garcia from BE yesterday so should move up.

I agree about Robertson. He looked good at Ridgefield. Dominated a very tough Kyle Hamill in the finals.
