@Run.the.Pipes disagree with the teams you’ve mentioned not seeking tough competition. Simsbury has ramped up their schedule facing teams like Ponagansett, Eastern, Southington, Xavier tournament and CT Challenge. Windham in the past has produced many great talented wreastlers and never back down from anybody. They have a young team right now but still competitive. Eastern well has face numerous top 10 teams Trumbull, Simsbury, Southington, Foran and entered tough out of state and in state tournaments including a 2nd place finish in Open and 2 Class L titles. Ledyard is another tough wrestling school not backing down from competition. Just because they don’t attend Eastern States or Beast of the East don’t belittle a school. Athletic budgets are tight at some school or don’t get the funding to attend those events.

@Interestedparty From CIAC tournament packet 1.Only institutional members of the Conference may enter these tournaments. 2. Matches with non-member of CIAC schools will not be considered in the seeding. Matches with out-of-state schools who are NOT members of their state association and matches against teammates WILL NOT count for seeding. (Out-of state does count towards win/loses as long as they abide by their state associations.)
