I think that any time a 4 beats a 1 in the semi's, it's at least a mild upset. Cole Shaughnessey and Sam White beat Tim Roberts and Jack Ryan and then lost close 1 point matches in the finals. 195 in Ls was crazy with Salinas beating Bartholomay in the quarters (and 5 seed Babenkov getting to the finals beating the 1 seed Toth). 15 seed Morrell getting to the SEMIFINALS be beating the 5 and 6 seeds (and then only losing by a point to Sibbett!) was a great job by him.

Sam White should have O'Brien as a key win in the Opens ranking. Both 113 and 120 are straight up for grabs. Crazy. I was surprised by the Cyr-Currier outcome. Kudos to Drew. That's a GREAT win! I'm looking forward to Parrot-Fields. I hope I see them a few times in the post season.

Maybe a shout to all the guys that got their 100th victories so far this year. Seems like there have been a few .

@bartomeli8 Right. But not towards state seeding. So you can be 25 and 4, but be 23 and 1 in state. That's what your seed will be based on record wise. It goes on your individual overall record, though.

@Run.the.Pipes And so going out of state (LI, RI, Mass, etc.) makes even MORE sense if it doesn't affect your in state seeding.

@Run.the.Pipes Agreed. No reason for those programs to not spend a weekend or two somewhere other than their own backyard. And I like the bonus point system because more often then not, it cancels out some of those tough losses to better competition. And correct me if I'm wrong, but out of state losses aren't even counted towards seeding, anyway, right?

@Run.the.Pipes I think there is all the evidence in the world to support that ideology. The only question, though, is when do you start doing that as a team? I think the development of the program only happens when there are some wins and there are some kids that see some success. Obviously there is a point where you have to go out and challenge yourself, but there are different levels for different teams, no? Rapuano has always been great. He has to do those tournaments because that's the next step in his development. You gave the best public school in the northeast, A solid private school who can take anyone from any town and competes against public schools, and a program that's got 631 wins since 1975. These are established programs who go out and challenge themselves. All I'm saying is I think most coaches want their wrestlers to get better, but calling Timberlane isn't necessarily always the answer.

I think I said he beat Finn. Someone told me in Danbury during the Holiday Tournament. Sorry about that. Should know better. He's a great wrestler, and deserves a ton of credit. I just think 113, 120, 132 and 138 are going to be so fun this year in the post season. This state has some really good wrestlers, man.

Cyr beat Longo last night, 4-2, last night. That class will be fun to watch at Opens.

I think this class is a 3 man race to the end with Johnson, White and Ryan. Ty Finn and Parker Sutton both lost to Braedon O'Brien, who lost to White in Danbury and had a tough time with Terry Brannigan from Staples. I don't think White and Ryan wrestled yet, but I know Johnson and he have. Bottom line is that he is definitely ranked too low and may very well be the best one. But I think those 3 are the ones to beat, especially with Cyr going to 115.

I think he's ranked too low also, but who has he beaten? Just asking because I don't know. He beat an injuerd Ebert is the only one I know.

Will they put brackets up? I know there is a formula to it, but just curious if they put the brackets up with the names, as well.

Last night at Warde: Kosman beat Matt Ryan 9-2 and Sam White 5-3. Warde forfeited. Ryan beat Shaugnessy and White (don't know those scores) and White beat Shaugnessy 12 or 13-7.

Friday night at Warde should be interesting at 113. Shaughnessy, Ryan and White and possibly Kosman if he wrestles up.

Is Kosman wrestling 106 or 113? Seen him at both weights throughout the year.
