couple of notes...easiest way to avoid duplication (ie Delmazio ranked at 120 and 132) is to work from a single spreadsheet with all names, schools and weights...so if a wrestler changes wt class, they are not still elsewhere. the ND-WH kid at 126 has beaten some ranked kids and was 1 round from placing at the Open last year when with NBran. thanks again and hoping feeling better.

Just a few things I have noticed recently...the 126 from ND-WH (Manganiello) is tough. Placed 3rd at S last yr for NBran and is def top 10. Tat from Led has been at 106 recently, and will need to be considered higher. As others have mentioned, RS of X has been at 113. Chapman of Mont is listed at 144 and 157, but have not seen him below 157 since Dec (while Vanegas of NFA is shown at 150, but usually goes 144). thanks again for the work.

Couple of notes...might want to consider a date on the top of the rankings page showing that the rankings are "As of ...." so that those providing input might know if it is something you may have missed, or just something that happened too recently to be included in the current version. Also, Newtown is Class L. Perhaps add weight class column to your Pound for Pound List (a list that will never make everyone happy). Lastly, most prefer "dual" over "duel" as the latter evokes images of Burr and Hamilton. thanks again for your efforts!

You do have Malachai F listed at 190 and 215, and I think there is only one Z in Despard's first name (he is listed at 113 but has been at 126...no idea if dropping down). also, I believe Tripaldi (132) is now at Iona Prep. keep in mind that coaches are the ones who input their rosters into Flo, so it would be very easy for the coach to edit the name and correct the spelling, which would allow it to show correctly everywhere on Flo

although the biggest factor is coaches entering individual results into Flo, finding them can be a little tricky as well. the easiest way to view an individual's results all in one place is to find them on any bracket of any Flo tournament (scroll down the page on arena past all upcoming events until you see past stuff). from the on-line bracket, just click on the wrestler. it will then show all the results for that wrestler. here is an example using a kid from the Warde tourney whose coach probably won't mind me posting it... the st. b/norwich tech co-op folded, with the Norwich Tech kids forming new co-op with East Lyme, which would make them Class L. The few St B kids are now a 1-man team, affiliated with Waterford schedule.

ciac requires team scores to be reported to their website. following the lead of many other states, CT has attempted to get individual results also collected and reported to ensure accuracy. last year was the first year of asking coaches to report results on Flo, and the vast majority did so in a timely and accurate manner. once again, they are being asked to do the same for 2019-20, but it is not a ciac requirement. most results can be found via floarena, as well as many tournaments.

Prelim seeds and brax are on Flo, subject to scratches/changes. Finals on Saturday will be streamed live by The New London Day at 4pm at theday.com.

this year (as had been done a few times in the past, either due to weather issues or as a trial), the medal round was wrestled concurrently. a survey is being completed by coaches regarding the open, and one of the questions is regarding the finals. please note that with media deadlines and tournament length being one of the primary issues noted by wrestling spectators and fans, the concurrent medal round saves approximately 90 minutes on the schedule. also, there appears to be a contradiction in the 2 statements from above..."took a lot of attention away from the finals" vs "those going for 3rd and 5th got almost no attention..." When 3rd and 5th are wrestled separately prior (with a needed break to alllow for the 45 min rule), it is on 4 mats, increasing the dilution of eyes on those mats (not to mention the casual fans who are still wandering in and out, getting ready for the finals, as well as eventually having fewer fans for the finals, as the peripheral family members of the 3rd & 5th kids have bailed out). The process will be reviewed by the committee in the spring, taking into account the coach survey, facility cost savings etc in determining the format for 2019.

Schools are supposed to report team scores. In CT, there is currently no requirement about recording all individual results. Other states mandate this (such as RI via Trackwrestling), and it is only a matter of time before CT implements a similar requirement, either via TW, Flo or a ciac database.

After hearing from a few admins with concerns about Fri competition with no school, the ECC tournament is being ppd until Sat/Sun.  The specific schedule for Sat will be determined at noon Fri based on forecasts, as we may not be able to start early if there is some light AM snow.  Also, Sunday will not start before 12:30pm, based on ciac policy.

while seed meeting is Wed night, brackets will not be posted too early, as there are always changes (and they become more difficult in Flo if you build the brax before scratches). however, I do expect to post all prelim seeds Wed night on this site and on PTW, and most folks are able to figure out potential pairings based on a standard bracket.

besides outplacing their ranking, the other two biggest factors in creating an accurate predictor for team placing at the Class tourney are the points scored by non-placers (typically highest for deep teams with limited holes), and accurate values assigned to ranking, for while a 6-5-4-3-2-1 scale does work easily, the average points scored would be more along the lines of 24-21-18-16-13-11. also, the points earned by placers can be impacted by bonus points. have seen two very different means of earning almost identical point totals, such as 6 finalists and no other placers vs no finalists and 11 medal winners. lastly, the person referencing a team's dual meet performance should realize that these rankings are derived from state tourney predictions, not dual meets (whereas a team with 3-4 high scorers will do well at Div or open but will suffer in duals).
