Maybe we can spark some interest in this forum by seeking predictions of the top 3 teams (in order) for each of the 4 divisional meets this weekend. Anybody who gets all 12 schools correct in exact order of top 3 at each will get a meatball sub at the Open. Predictions due by 3pm Friday to count. Unsure of where to start? Look at the team rankings here or in the state poll, or perhaps the previews on CTwrestling or the seed sheets. Simple format to use: LL 1-2-3, L 1-2-3, M 1-2-3 and S 1-2-3. Good luck!

Thanks for the updated rankings. Couple of notes: 215 Xavier listed as LL (should be L, as he is correctly in P4P), in P4P Mahoney as New Milford should be New Fairfield, 2 kids listed at 126 and 132 (Accorsi and Currier), at 138 Trumbull beat NFA and at 285 Fitch Vine beat NFA and Lym/WT. Should have some more impactful results this weekend, as new weights settle in, especially at 106. thanks again--the fans always enjoy rankings!

So, as everyone awaits a decision from DPH, perhaps the following could be considered if a short March dual-only season is permitted. If able to conduct a month of dual meets, would encourage piloting a few proposals, most of which are designed to reduce forfeits (with no individually bracketed events, there will be significantly reduced match opportunities). These include: locked line-ups at intros (no ducking), 12 weight classes (109, 116, 123, 130, 137, 144, 152, 162, 174, 190, 215 and 285), matside weigh-ins (would eliminate weight certification for this short season, as wrestlers would need to be able to compete immediately at that walking weight, with 2 pounds for uniform, shoes, headgear and 1 pound for Jan wt allowance), and lastly, to eliminate team ties, utilize Margin of Victory Scoring, where every point counts (pins still 6, TF still 5...but all other wins from 3.1 to 4.4, as would be 3 pts plus win margin/10, ie 7-3 win is 3.4, while 11-1 is 4.0 etc).

Again as I hate scrolling through old posts, how about a weekly post seeking results that may have been missed and may impact rankings? No real need to post if a higher ranked kid beat someone lower, but if the reverse is true, be sure to include correct details. Looks like this site is working hard to update rankings frequently, but finding box score results with details is becoming harder and harder.

Now that the 2 pound allowance has kicked in (and rather than scrolling through 100 comments under another post), how about posting here if you can confirm a wrestler is at a different weight class (typically lower) than that at which he is ranked. No need to mention when a kid gets bumped up in a dual, but if he is a ranked wrestler who has weighed in/competed at a lower weight--or you know with certainty that he is dropping down soon (and is able to do so according to descent plan), mention it here.
